Brief Description

The purpose of this position is to provide project management support for the Brazos River Authority (BRA). Support functions are accomplished by participating in BRA's risk-based capital planning and management initiatives; performing project management duties on select projects; using judgement to identify project challenges and recommend solutions; utilizing project management software tools; assisting with annual project budget preparation and performing monthly budget reviews; serving on project teams to develop Request for Proposals (RFPs), evaluate proposals, and select vendors. Other responsibilities include monitoring and reporting on project progress; scheduling and attending project meetings; preparing project meeting minutes and summaries; tracking project deliverables and action items; presenting to stakeholders on project status; maintaining project files; researching projects, topics, and materials; and any other duties as assigned.


  • Manages projects and supports other Project Managers with development of project plans, project schedules, budgets, documentation, scopes of work, meetings, invoices, presentations, BRA staff coordination and consultant coordination.
  • Develops project budgets and assists with annual departmental budget preparation and monthly budget status reviews, prepares project narratives, project implementation worksheets and direct labor estimates, and monitors project expenditures and progress.
  • Coordinates project meetings, schedules, and activities. Serves as a liaison between team members and internal and external contacts. Coordinates in-house monthly project reports. Compiles comments/edits of weekly Project Status Overview reports and maintains project files.
  • Assists with development and review of various documents including: contracts, scopes of work, meeting agendas, meeting minutes, project reports, project submittals and presentation materials. Assists project managers as requested.
  • Visits project sites as needed to develop understanding of project goals and objectives, review project progress, meet with internal and external project stakeholders, and coordinate activities to complete project tasks.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum two years' experience or equivalent combination of education
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver's License and good driving record
  • Preferred: Project Management Professional Certification

STARTING SALARY RANGE: Min: $73,382,846 to Max: $95,396 annual salary. This is an exempt position
