Rogers Group is currently seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Engineerย to join our team in Oak Ridge, TN. This entry-level position is ideal for a recent college graduate with a Civil Engineering degree who is eager to begin a career in environmental compliance and management within the aggregates and asphalt highway construction industry. This position will report to the Regional Environmental Manager and will play a crucial role in supporting our environmental initiatives. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations andย additionalย operations through growth.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with site compliance and permitting regarding air, water, mining, and other applicable regulations.

  • Support the preparation and submission of modification and renewal applications for water, air, mining, and other applicable permits.

  • Participate in site audits for quarries, asphalt plants, shops, and construction sites.

  • Collect samples to support environmental compliance.

  • Entering environmental data, preparing reports, and analyzing data in support of operations.ย 

  • Contribute to project management and coordination efforts.

  • Assist in preparing, presenting, and training employees on necessary records and reports required to be maintained on site.

  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with municipal and State Agencies under the guidance of senior staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering.

  • EIT (Engineer-In-Training) certification preferred.

  • Basic understanding of Federal and State Mining, Water, and Air Regulations.

  • Familiarity with 401 and 404 permitting processes is a plus.

  • Knowledge of erosion and sedimentation processes and practices.

  • Experience with AutoCAD software is preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to travel as required.

  • Valid Driver's License.
