As an Entry Level Staff Engineer, you will join our Site Civil Design Team in our Sandwich, MA or South Harwich, MA office, where you'll play a key role in delivering vital infrastructure projects across the Northeast. Working with industry experts, you'll tackle complex challenges that strengthen community resilience and advance environmental sustainability. Our Land Use Team and Projects
Nearly 120 professional engineers, strong and recent recipients of multiple ACEC Engineering Excellence and ASCE Project Awards, our senior technical and project management leaders have earned an outstanding reputation with private, state, and local government clients. We assist clients from the initial conceptual stages of a project through schematic design, design development, permitting, construction documents, bidding, and construction oversight. Well versed in local, state, and federal regulations and permitting requirements, as well as ever evolving climate change impacts and concerns, we strive to incorporate sustainability and resiliency into our site plans and designs.
Responsibilities, Requirements, and Total Rewards
What You'll Be Doing
As a valuable part of our Site Civil Design Team, an Entry Level Staff Engineer will support a variety of projects and gain hands-on experience with responsibilities such as:
  • Play a key role working on site planning and design, problem-solving, and permitting assignments
  • Draft figures, details, and plans
  • Complete field work in support of design and construction projects
  • Prepare design calculations and opinions of probable construction cost
  • Prepare technical specifications, memorandum, reports, and project correspondence
  • Understand design standards and regulatory requirements
  • Provide construction phase services including, construction observation, review shop drawings and submittals, and create record plans

What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Passed your FE Exam and obtained your EIT certification, or planning to by June 2027
  • Relevant experience through internships in surveying, engineering, permitting, or construction observation
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Eagerness to learn, intellectually curious, self-motivated, and excellent organizational skills

Preferred Requirements
  • Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Hands-on experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or HydroCAD
  • Understanding of hydraulic/hydrological studies and stormwater modeling
