Job Summary:
CMTA, a Legence company, is looking for an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to help in our Energy Solutions offices in Baltimore MD, Fairfax and Richmond VA, Boston MA, and California. The Energy Solutions division of CMTA is the fastest growing division of our large and growing company. The successful candidate is typically a self-motivated individual that thrives on helping clients and has the technical background to be involved and lead all phases of our work. Although this position is for the performance contracting division of our company, we have found that engineers with strong backgrounds in HVAC design and commissioning can easily make the transition to become an energy engineer within our Energy Solutions group.
The Mechanical Engineer supports all aspects of performance contracts for our clients, from conception to completion, and helps throughout all phases. In addition to technical skills, this role plays a key part in developing new opportunities, presenting to clients, and contributing to CMTA's outstanding culture. Below are some of the duties included:
  • Help develop and present project opportunities to potential clients
  • Support client meetings, industry events, and proposal development
  • Project development including site visits, audits, and energy calculations
  • Engineering design review of drawings and specifications
  • Support the bidding process to ensure quality and competitive outcomes
  • Help facilitate the contract administration process
  • Work with the construction manager to ensure a smooth construction period
  • Commission installed systems to validate performance
  • Support the client through the warranty phase as needed
  • Work with our Measurement & Verification (M&V) professional to develop M&V reports

Required Experience:
  • Minimum 0-3 years of experience with an Energy Services company OR a consulting engineering/commissioning firm is preferred.

Base Salary Range: Fairfax VA, Baltimore MD, California and Massachusetts - $75,000 - $90,000. This role is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus. Bonus eligibility and payout are determined by role, individual performance, and company performance, and are not guaranteed
