GIS / CAD ANALYST Infrastructure Planning & Utility Mapping

North Baldwin Utilities is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented GIS / CAD Analyst to support utility mapping, infrastructure planning, and system development for our water, wastewater, and natural gas operations.

This position works with GIS databases, utility mapping, engineering plans, GPS data, and infrastructure records that support one of the fastest-growing areas in Alabama.

Ideal candidates may have backgrounds in GIS, CAD, engineering technology, surveying, drafting, utilities, mapping, or infrastructure planning.

What Youll Do

Responsibilities may include:

  • Maintaining GIS and utility mapping databases
  • Preparing utility maps and infrastructure records
  • Working with CAD drawings, plats, surveys, and aerial imagery
  • Supporting water, wastewater, and natural gas system mapping
  • Assisting with utility planning and development projects
  • Coordinating with engineers, surveyors, contractors, and developers
  • Assisting with utility permits and coordination for county and state infrastructure projects
  • Researching easements, deeds, and utility records
  • Assisting with field verification and GPS data collection
  • Supporting future modeling and infrastructure planning efforts

Depending on experience level, employees may take on more independent project responsibilities over time.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Associate degree, technical degree, or related experience preferred
  • Experience with GIS and/or CAD software preferred

  • Valid drivers license preferred
