Location: Bedford, NH Salary: $120,000.00 USD Annually - $200,000.00 USD Annually Description:
The FPGA/Firmware Engineer will support the design and development of Electronically Scanned Array (ESA) products within an advanced engineering group. This role connects hardware and software disciplines, ensuring FPGA logic and embedded firmware operate together reliably within complex systems.
This job will have the following responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, simulate, test, and document high-speed FPGA systems
  • Debug and troubleshoot complex systems while optimizing performance, power usage, and specification compliance
  • Develop and maintain tools, workflows, and best practices for FPGA development
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineering teams to support integration and validation
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for designs, processes, and system integration
  • Understand technical requirements and align solutions with customer and project objectives
  • Identify and resolve unforeseen technical issues to maintain project schedules

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • FPGA development using SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL (SystemVerilog preferred)
  • Experience with FPGA simulation tools such as ModelSim or Vivado XSim (UVM experience is a plus)
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers
  • Proficiency in C/C++, Python, digital signal processing concepts, and version control tools such as Git
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces (e.g., multi-gigabit SERDES, Aurora, Ethernet, PCIe)
  • Familiarity with AMD/Xilinx Vivado tools (preferred)
  • Experience working in aerospace, defense, government, or regulated engineering environments (preferred)
  • Strong computer skills, including productivity and documentation tools
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively across teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Master's degree is a plus
  • Demonstrated professional experience in FPGA and embedded system development
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
