SSA Engineering LLC, a respected Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) consulting engineering firm serving the Washington, DC metropolitan area, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Electrical Designer to join our team in Bethesda, Maryland.


This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional (0โ€“3 years of experience) who is eager to develop their skills in electrical systems design within a collaborative and client-focused environment.


Position Overview

The successful candidate will support the design and development of electrical construction documents and models for commercial projects. We are looking for an individual with strong communication skills, a commitment to quality, and a desire to grow professionally while contributing to a high-performing team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set up new Revit MEP projects using established company templates
  • Develop electrical construction documents utilizing Revit MEP
  • Create and maintain electrical BIM models as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Develop, modify, and update Revit MEP families as required
  • Perform file management tasks including model posting, downloading updates, managing links, and version control
  • Participate in coordination meetings with other trades and assist in generating project reports


Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
  • 0โ€“3 years of experience in electrical design
  • Working knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices
  • Familiarity with electrical power distribution system design and analysis
  • Interest in learning commercial electrical systems design, including lighting, power systems, and fire alarm systems
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (required)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of drawing/model organization and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
