General Job Description
Position Overview
The Residential Electrical Helper is responsible for assisting with electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work while supporting daily operations and project activities. This role works closely with employees, customers, vendors, and leadership to ensure electrical systems are installed and maintained safely, accurately, and in compliance with company and industry standards.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist with electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and work orders to support project execution.
  • Support diagnosing and resolving electrical issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable electrical codes.
  • Coordinate with employees, vendors, subcontractors, and internal departments regarding project activities and operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to electrical work and project activities.
  • Support project timelines and assist with resolving operational concerns in the field.
  • Monitor equipment, materials, and job site conditions to support operational efficiency and safety.
  • Assist senior technicians and support field operations as needed.
  • Maintain professionalism and effective communication throughout all customer and operational interactions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous electrical installation, maintenance, or construction experience preferred.
  • Experience within construction, operations, or service environments preferred.
  • Relevant industry certifications or licenses preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties.
  • Entry-level experience supporting field operations or senior technicians preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Communicate in person, by phone, and through email.
  • Travel as required to support project and operational needs.
  • Stand, walk, climb ladders and stairs, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Sit for extended periods while driving to and between job sites.
  • Work on active job sites, indoors and outdoors, including attics, crawlspaces, and confined or elevated spaces, with exposure to varying weather, construction noise, dust, and other job site conditions.
  • Wear safety gear such as Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Maintain dependable transportation and consistent, reliable attendance to meet customer service and operational needs.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions within established company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work overtime, modified schedules, or occasional weekends as business needs require.
  • Perform all work on-site and in person; this is not a remote or hybrid position.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
