The AWS Rack Power team is driving rapid innovation in the power systems used by Amazon Web Services. Our designs are fundamentally changing the data center, providing operational and financial benefits that are critical to the success of the AWS business and its millions of customers. We design and build power equipment used by Amazon.com and AWS services such as EC2, EBS, S3, Glacier, and Outpost. Our engineers solve challenging technology problems, and take big bets on new concepts, enabling AWS services to continue to revolutionize the industry.
Key job responsibilities
What you will do: As a member of the Rack Power team, you will be responsible for the design, debug and validation of power systems including, but not limited to, battery management systems, Power supplies, AC/DC, DC/AC converters, Automatic transfer switches and BMC controllers. You will own the product's end to end development cycle. You will work side by side with hardware, firmware and software development teams on troubleshooting of challenging technical issues. You will design automation via test scripts and applications, write test reports, perform board level testing and functional verification of power sub-systems.
As a Hardware Development Power Engineer, you will support hardware/software integration testing, firmware regression and will propose design improvements to products based on findings from test results on a continuous improvement and technically challenging environment. You will be a hardware design subject matter expert on new product development efforts and will help define the architecture of future AWS technologies to deliver a world-class customer experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- Experience in hardware lab equipment such as digital scopes, logic analyzers, and soldering tools
- Experience in automation testing
- 2+ years of electrical engineering experience specifically in power electronics
- 2+ years of experience designing, testing, and debugging power electronics such as AC/DC, DC/DC and DC/AC power conversion, switching power supplies, driver circuits
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- Experience troubleshooting issues and root cause analysis
- Experience designing or testing products for safety, compliance, and regulatory standards
- Experience in working with overseas CM/OEM/ODM vendors in product development
- Experienced in gathering requirements and developing specifications

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
