Job Description
The Automation Technician supports the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of automated and electrical systems used in oilfield and industrial operations. This role is well-suited for experienced automation professionals, electricians looking to expand into automation, or motivated individuals with oilfield experience who are eager to learn and grow in automation and controls. The position is full-time and based in a field-support and operations environment.
Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot automation, electrical, and control systems
  • Support automated equipment and instrumentation used in field operations
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on electrical and automation components
  • Assist with commissioning, testing, and startup of automated systems
  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings
  • Support preventive maintenance programs to ensure system reliability
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and field personnel to resolve issues
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain compliance with applicable regulations
  • Document work performed, issues identified, and corrective actions taken
  • Participate in on-the-job training and continuous learning related to automation and controls

Skills and Qualifications
