Job description

Data Analyst

The Opportunity:
As data analyst, you love diving into data and turning it into meaningful insights. With the abundance of structured and unstructured data, you understand the importance of transforming complex data sets into useful information to solve challenges. As a data analyst at Booz Allen, you can use your skills and experience to support a mission and use data for good. We need a data analyst like you to bring your knowledge to support the United States Marine Corps.

As a client-facing data analyst on our Global Defense Team, you'll work closely with Marines to understand their questions and needs and then dig into their data-rich environments to find the pieces of their information puzzle. Not only will you provide a deep understanding of their data, but you'll also advise your client on what the information means and how it can be used to make an impact on strategic engagements, process improvement, visualization, and analysis.

How You'll Contribute:

  • Use your technical knowledge and analytical mindset to support client and stakeholder relationships.

  • Identify, connect, and consolidate data from multiple sources across communication functions, including social and digital media analytics, media monitoring platforms, survey and engagement data, website analytics, and internal reporting systems.

  • Build and maintain data pipelines and connectors such as Power Automate flows, Dataverse tables, Excel, and SharePoint sources to automate recurring data ingestion.

  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of communication data to identify trends, patterns, correlations, and gaps over time.

  • Translate communication goals and objectives into measurable indicators, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) across outputs, outtakes, outcomes, and organizational impact.

  • Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting processes using Power Automate and other Microsoft Power Platform tools.

  • Design and build interactive dashboards, reports, and data models that present assessment findings clearly to senior leaders and staff.

  • Develop recurring and on-demand visual products such as trend charts, scorecards, and heat maps that communicate performance against KPIs.

Work with us to help drive large-scale communication strategy and process decisions through data insights.

Join us. The world can't wait.

You Have:

  • Experience with building interactive dashboards, reports, and data models

  • Experience with data exploration, data cleaning, data visualization, and predictive modeling

  • Experience using Microsoft Power Platform Tools such as Power Automate

  • Experience with Python including Pandas, NumPy, API integration, SQL, ETL, and ELT

  • Ability to brief senior leaders

  • Ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of data to identify trends, patterns, correlations, and gaps over time

  • Ability to build and maintain data pipelines and connectors to automate recurring data ingestion

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience building internal analytics platforms and data products

  • Experience with translating leadership priorities and assessment requirements into analytic products

  • Experience with Databricks or PySpark

  • Knowledge of application architecture design

  • Knowledge of machine learning including classification, clustering, and evaluation metrics

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
