We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Trusts & Estates Paralegal who will, under the supervision of attorneys, provide support for all types of trust and estate administration. The paralegal will operate as part of a team of attorneys and support staff to provide a high level of service to both internal and external clients. Duties Responsible for the daily trust administration for various clients (i.e., properly manage accounts, prepare letters, transfer forms, etc.) Draft correspondence to financial institutions for documents and information required for estate and trust administrations Prepare probate court forms for estate administrations for attorney review Assist in drafting estate planning documents, including wills, powers of attorney, and both basic and advanced trusts. Help manage and organize estate and probate files. Prepare accounting and financial statements. Filing and obtaining records with the courts and government offices (experience e-filing trust petitions with the RI Superior Court is a plus). Proofreading documents for spelling, grammatical, and/or formatting errors. Communicate directly with clients to provide updates or assist with accounting and tax needs. Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Paralegal Certification preferred. Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in a professional environment, which includes progressive responsibility in managing client trust accounts. Law firm experience preferred. High level of proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office Suite applications (with focus on MS Word and MS Excel), Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign, Lexis/Nexis, and other internet research tools. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask. Highly effective written and oral communications. Creative problem-solving abilities. Work independently, taking initiative to move projects to conclusion. Maintain a professional demeanor in stressful situations. Reliable and dependable team player. Maintain confidentiality of client information. Ability to perform well under pressure.
