As a growing organization, we pride ourselves on developing innovative proposals that help us secure new contracts and expand our footprint. We are seeking a talented Proposal Writer to join our team at our corporate office in Overland Park, KS. This pivotal role will contribute to our growth by leading the creation of compelling, high-quality proposals that drive our success.
Summary of Position: Supports the research, writing, and development of bids to expand the Company’s portfolio of concession contracts across national, state, and local parks, as well as campground and marina operations. This entry-level role assists with multiple proposals at once and contributes to producing accurate, well-structured, and compelling bid responses.
Candidates with experience working for local, state or federal land management agencies such as state Departments of Natural Resource, National Park Service, US Forest Service or Zoos, or in related industries such as Zoos, Museums or Aquariums are highly encouraged to apply!
Responsibilities:
  • Review RFPs, technical documents, and background materials to understand bid requirements and scope. Assist in developing clarification questions and identifying needed information
  • Participate in weekly and ad-hoc proposal meetings to maintain clear understanding of project goals and provide updates on writing progress
  • Research, gather, and analyze data to support assigned writing tasks
  • Conduct background and industry research, including competitor insights and market trends
  • Meet with senior staff and subject matter experts to collect information and support the creation of new content and revision of existing materials, under the direction of the supervisor
  • Assist in drafting clear, concise, and persuasive proposal content based on collected information and guidance from leadership
  • Work within strict timelines to meet internal milestones and agency deadlines
  • Help ensure that proposal documents are complete, compliant, and professionally formatted according to RFP instructions
  • Adhere to all solicitation requirements, including page limits, formatting standards, and submission protocols
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail

Knowledge and Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Communications, Journalism, Business, Public Affairs, Public Administration or related field from accredited institution.
Experience: Prior experience in proposal writing, government contracting, or related writing-focused roles preferred.
