Duties
Help
  • Monitors and evaluates financial systems support to ensure compliance, internal controls, and optimal operating procedures. Performs financial management reviews and evaluations for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Researches and resolves operational and procedural problems encountered during daily operations, including analysis of interactive systems.
  • Analyzes and evaluates issues and requirements, develops recommendations, and proposes new or changes to guidelines, procedures, and/or internal controls to resolve problems and issues of effectiveness and efficiency of work operations.
  • Explains to team members the action items, projects, and/or program issues under review, problems to be solved, deadlines, and time frames for completion.
  • Observes training needs and relays needs and requests to the supervisor.

Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as: Analyzing financial and accounting activities, processes, and business practices to recommend process improvements; refining existing work methods and techniques for application to the analysis of specific issues or resolution of problems; reviewing financial/accounting systems to assess their efficiency/effectiveness.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
Education
Education is not substitutable for specialized experience at this grade level.

Failure to become certified within the required timeframe may be grounds for removal from the position and/or from Federal service.
