Job description

About Us:
The Mission of Caring Network is to honor and glorify Jesus Christ, the author and creator of life, by bringing His love and compassion to abortion minded women and equipping them to choose life - both physical and spiritual.
About the Role:
The objective for this role is to support the expansion of the ministry by increasing financial resources. This entry-level position will focus on creating and implementing a strategy to move mid-level donors (current or previous, generally giving $500-$2,000 annually) to major donor level donors (giving $2,500+ annually). This will involve building relationships with the donors, sharing ministry opportunities and the impact of their contributions, personally inviting them to increase their giving, and stewarding their gifts. This role reports to the V.P. of Development and serves as part of the Development Team.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Manage a portfolio of mid-level donors
  • Use Caring Network's Mid-Level Donor Strategy
  • Building relationships through:
    • Phone calls
    • Personalized emails
    • Writing thank you notes
    • One-on-one meetings (in person or virtual)
    • Hosting small group events
    • Impact Reporting and Stewarding - results and stories
    • Reporting on program updates and sharing vision and strategy with donors
  • Qualifying donors to see who might move into major giving
  • Engage in face-to-face, virtual, or in limited cases phone solicitations to move donors to major gift level
  • Document, in CRM database, all contacts with donors
  • Attend and support donor events
  • Participate in bi-monthly Development Team Meetings and Monthly Staff Meetings
  • Represent ministry at local churches and organizations on a limited basis
  • Other job-related duties as assigned

Candidate Requirements:
  • A committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and is a participant in a local church
  • Exhibit a strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position and enthusiasm for the mission and strategy of Caring Network
  • Agree with and be willing to uphold Caring Network's Statements of Faith and Principle and Core Values
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Demonstrated ability-gained through internships, volunteer work, academic projects, or similar experiences-to build relationships, provide customer service, and influence decisions
  • Experience in fundraising office, alumni relations, membership, a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities, with attention to detail and deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and customer relationship management (CRM) systems
  • Available to work weekends and evenings, as needed
  • Must be able to work from the Glen Ellyn administrative office
  • Must have reliable transportation to meet with donors in greater Chicagoland, primarily in DuPage County, as well as for monthly staff meetings and fundraising events
