Position Summary

As an Inside Sales Engineer (Entry Level), you will serve as a key technical and customer service point of contact for Taber Industries' pressure transducer customers. You'll work closely with customers, Sales, and Engineering to understand technical requirements, develop product proposals, support order processing, answer product questions, and help identify solutions that meet each customer's application needs.

This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with a technical background who enjoys combining engineering concepts with customer interaction and problem-solving. Success requires strong communication, organization, and technical aptitude, along with the ability to translate customer needs into clear information that supports both our customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers seeking technical, product, and order-related support.
  • Review customer Requests for Proposal (RFPs), interpret technical requirements, and assist in developing proposals for new and existing transducer applications.
  • Answer general and technical customer questions related to pressure transducers and their applications.
  • Develop product proposals and provide technical support throughout the pre-sale and post-sale process.
  • Enter and maintain customer orders accurately within the ERP/MRP system.
  • Diagnose technical concerns and guide customers through appropriate troubleshooting procedures.
  • Coordinate communication between customers and Engineering when additional technical expertise or product development support is required.
  • Review and approve applicable quotes and orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage and follow up on open sales opportunities.
  • Support sales representatives with technical questions, customer inquiries, quotations, and product information.
  • Assist the National Sales Manager with improving inside sales processes, including quotations, price lists, order entry procedures, and technical training tools.
  • Identify and communicate potential product development and new business opportunities based on customer needs.
  • Provide secondary phone coverage and technical support for transducer customers.
  • Assist customers with shipping documentation and order tracking information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent technical education and experience.
  • Technical training or education with an understanding of engineering and manufacturing concepts.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn and understand technical products and applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret customer requirements and communicate technical information clearly.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Approximately one year of related technical, engineering, manufacturing, customer service, or sales experience.
  • Experience working with ERP or MRP systems.
  • Exposure to technical sales, quoting, proposal development, or order management.
  • Familiarity with pressure measurement, instrumentation, transducers, or related technical products.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
