Applications Engineer (Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer Track)

Wilmington, MA | $80,000 - $85,000 Base Salary

Are you an early-career mechanical engineer who enjoys solving technical problems, working hands-on with equipment, and interacting with customers? We're seeking an Applications Engineer to join a growing team specializing in advanced ultrasonic metal welding technology.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop expertise from the ground up. You'll start by working closely with manufacturing and assembly teams to learn the equipment, processes, and technology firsthand. As your knowledge grows, you'll transition into a customer-facing applications role, supporting new projects, troubleshooting field challenges, validating processes, and helping customers achieve success with cutting-edge manufacturing solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Learn our systems by working alongside the assembly team
  • Develop expertise in ultrasonic metal welding processes and equipment
  • Partner with customers to develop and validate new applications
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process-related issues both remotely and onsite
  • Support small production runs and process development activities
  • Create technical reports, application documentation, and customer training materials
  • Serve as a technical resource for internal engineering, design, and sales teams
  • Participate in customer visits and industry trade shows
  • Travel occasionally to customer sites for support and project work

What We're Looking For

  • Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for understanding how machinery works
  • Experience assembling, testing, maintaining, or troubleshooting industrial equipment is highly valued
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
