ATS was founded in 1967 and is headquartered in Marietta, GA. Today the Company employs nearly 2,100 team members in over 95 locations across the United States.

Our purpose is to create a safe and reliable world, and our mission is to deliver assurance through precise technical and professional services.

Our team in Cincinnati, OH is seeking an Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This is a hands-on role with exposure to inspections, testing, equipment installations, and client-facing work. The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate or early-career engineer eager to apply mechanical or civil engineering skills in the field and grow with our company.

This position is based in the Cincinnati area, reporting directly to our local manager. Candidates must have reliable personal transportation, as travel throughout the region is a key part of the role. Local travel will typically be completed using a personal vehicle, with mileage reimbursement provided, while overnight or out-of-town travel may involve the use of a rental vehicle. Travel is regularly required throughout Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois, with occasional assignments in other locations as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, analysis, and testing of mechanical and structural systems and components.
  • Perform inspections on suspended access and fall protection equipment in accordance with OSHA, ANSI, IWCA, and ASME standards.
  • Collect field data, perform basic troubleshooting, and support senior engineers in report preparation and testimony.
  • Manage and support load testing and equipment installation projects from start to finish.
  • Perform engineering calculations for equipment and supporting structural elements (e.g., steel beams, concrete slabs, columns).
  • Generate design drawings, specifications, and certification reports.
  • Meet with clients, support proposal generation, and manage subcontractors during installations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, quality, project management, etc.) to support ongoing projects.
  • Follow safety guidelines and engineering best practices in both lab and field environments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering.
  • 0–2 years of engineering experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and willingness to work in a variety of industrial and construction environments.
  • Ability and willingness to work at customer sites approximately 50% of the time and travel as needed for project assignments throughout the region, with occasional national travel.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable personal transportation, and the ability to meet ATS driving record standards.
  • Comfortable working at heights, including near roof edges, while using proper fall-protection equipment.
  • Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends based on project requirements.
  • Must be able to pass a physical exam, background check, and drug screening.
  • Team-oriented with a positive, proactive attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or coursework in structural analysis and design, including calculations for beams, slabs, and columns.
  • Familiarity with design codes and standards (AISC, ACI, IBC, etc.).
  • Experience with Revit is a plus.

BENEFITS
