Job description

POSITION:  Electrical Job Runner I           


DWS ENERGY      Founded in 2014, Diversified Wiring Solutions dba, DWS Energy is a rapidly expanding, electrical contracting construction company specializing in installation services for Data Center and Healthcare markets focusing on commercial building controls wiring, and electrical pre-fabrication solutions in our UL-508A certified panel shop. The organization has expanded its service offerings throughout its tenure and continues to grow at an accelerated rate.


OVERVIEW:  The Job Runner I – Electrical role is responsible for assisting in the management and execution of electrical controls projects, ensuring they are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in project management within the electrical controls industry.


DUTIES:  The duties and responsibilities of the Job Runner I may include but are not limited to:


  • Support Senior Job Runners in planning, coordinating, and supervising electrical controls projects.
  • Perform precise and secure electrical terminations, ensuring proper connection and functionality of wiring systems according to project specifications and safety standards including multi-mode and single-mode fibers.
  • Work closely with Installers and Apprentice Electricians to ensure project tasks are completed on time.
  • Assist in monitoring and inspecting work to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Assist with point validation and testing.
  • Maintain time entries for the project.
  • Maintain material stock for the project.
  • Creating and maintaining Job Safety documents (JHA) and pre-task planning.
  • Communicate with clients to provide updates and address any concerns.
  • Help track project efficiency and assist in managing budgets.
  • Follow and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, including reports and schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS:  The following are required skills and qualifications:


  • Construction industry experience is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or coursework in electrical systems is a plus.
  • Be able to utilize Senior level Supervision.
  • Some experience in electrical work or project management is preferred but not required.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Basic proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Master Electrician, Journeyman’s License) are a plus.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • CPR AED/First AID certified.
  • OSHA 30 required. (Must be completed within 6 months)


REQUIREMENTS:  The following are physical requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment and materials.
  • Must be able to do prolonged periods of standing, stooping, kneeling, bending
  • Must be able to work safely on a ladder.
  • Occasional exposure to outside weather on job sites.
  • Ability to walk job sites for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift at least 35 lbs. solo and 50 lbs. in tandem lifts.
