Familiarity with technical tools like SQL databases, data visualization software (e.g., Tableau), and machine learning libraries (such as scikit-learn or TensorFlow) is commonly expected. Curiosity, problem-solving ability, and effective communication help you interpret data insights and collaborate with diverse teams. These skills ensure you can extract meaningful insights from data, contribute to data-driven decision-making, and grow within the analytics field.

What types of projects or tasks can I expect to work on as an entry-level data scientist?

As an entry-level data scientist, you'll typically work on tasks such as data cleaning, exploratory data analysis, and supporting the development of predictive models. You may also assist in preparing datasets, generating reports, and visualizing data for stakeholders. Collaboration with more senior data scientists and cross-functional teams like engineering or business analysts is common, giving you opportunities to learn and grow your technical and communication skills. These foundational projects are essential for building your expertise and preparing for more complex responsibilities as you advance in your career.

Job description

Alpharetta, GA
Workplace Type: Office
Employment Type: Salaried
Discover a more connected career
We are seeking a high-capacity, versatile Systems Developer to join our adaptive technology team. This role is designed for a professional who excels in a dynamic, high-velocity environment where business priorities evolve in real-time. Unlike traditional development roles defined by static long-term roadmaps, our team operates as a responsive delivery unit, providing "Just-in-Time" solutions to complex business challenges.
The ideal candidate possesses a "Product Owner" mindset-someone who is technically resourceful, energized by rapid problem-solving, and capable of bridging the gap between ambiguous business needs and functional technical tools.
Core Engineering Philosophies
Our team operates under three foundational principles to ensure delivery excellence:
  • Interruption-Resilient Design: We architect solutions with high readability and atomic logic. You must design with the expectation that work-in-progress may be paused or transitioned; therefore, maintaining technical integrity and documentation is paramount. Expect interruptions and adapt.
  • Iterative Architecture: We build for evolution, not just completion. You will develop extensible frameworks that allow for rapid reconfiguration as customer requirements and market drivers shift. Expect changes and adapt.
  • Downstream Transparency: We design data models not just for the application, but for the entire business ecosystem. Your work must be structured so that reporting and analytics teams can leverage your data without needing a "translator."

Connecting you to great benefits
  • Weekly Paychecks
  • Paid Time Off, Parental Leave, and Holidays
  • Insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance)
  • 401(k) w/ Company Match
  • Stock Purchase Plan
  • Education Reimbursement
  • Legal Insurance
  • Discounts on gym memberships, pet insurance, and much more!

What you'll do
Key Responsibilities
  • Rapid Application Engineering: Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade tools and web applications using Low-Code platforms (OutSystems preferred).
  • Operational Triage: Participate in daily tactical sessions to evaluate the project queue, address urgent business "pain points," and re-prioritize development efforts based on immediate impact.
  • Data Engineering for Analytics: Design SQL schemas and views optimized for third-party BI tools (specifically Power BI). Ensure data is structured for efficient modeling so downstream report developers can interface with your models performantly.
  • Specialist Tooling (Python): Develop and maintain lightweight server-side applications and "mini-apps" in Python to handle specific business logic or data transformations outside the Low-Code ecosystem.
  • Stakeholder Consultation: Act as a technical liaison to business units, translating high-level concepts into technical specifications and functional prototypes.

Continuous Optimization: Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and implement "MacGyver-style" ingenuity to resolve complex constraints with efficient, elegant code.
What you'll need
  • Technical Aptitude: Profound understanding of relational database management (SQL) and core programming logic (loops, arrays, conditional branching).
  • Cross-Platform Interoperability: Ability to bridge Low-Code frontends, Python backends, and SQL databases, ensuring data flows seamlessly while maintaining a unified logic structure.
  • Messaging Awareness (AMQP/RabbitMQ): Conceptual understanding of asynchronous messaging. Ability to troubleshoot message flows and monitor prioritized queues between systems.
  • Server-Side Awareness: Competency in managing applications within a server environment (Windows or Linux), ensuring standalone scripts run reliably as background processes or scheduled tasks.
  • Adaptive Workflow: Demonstrated ability to thrive in non-linear delivery models and the mental agility to context-switch between projects without a loss in quality.
  • Resourcefulness: Proven track record of self-directed learning and the ability to leverage technical "workarounds" (CSS, JavaScript, or SQL scripts) when standard platform features reach their limit.

Education & Experience
Flexible Credentials: We prioritize demonstrated skill and logical reasoning over specific years of experience or degree titles. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, including:
  • Recent graduates in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Information Systems.
  • Self-taught developers with a strong portfolio of functional applications.
  • Professionals with experience in OutSystems, PowerApps, or similar rapid-application-development environments.

Why grow your career with us
Your career here is more than just a job - it's your pathway to opportunity. Our hands-on training, supportive environment, and responsive leadership connect you to work with purpose. Our commitment to you extends beyond professional development to a safety-first culture that ensures you can do what you do best, with peace of mind.
Building stronger solutions together
Our company is an equal-opportunity employer - we are committed to providing a work environment where everyone can thrive, grow, and feel connected.
