Job description

As a Technician, you will contribute to the synthesis of polymers and other materials used to create coatings. You'll conduct experiments, collect and analyze data, and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient laboratory environment. Working closely with a supervisory chemist, you'll receive detailed instructions for specific procedures but will take ownership of prioritizing your daily tasks, ensuring productivity, and upholding rigorous safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up reaction equipment and handle chemical reactants safely
  • Perform analytical measurements and record detailed experimental results in a laboratory notebook
  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory, including proper waste disposal and equipment cleaning
  • Order laboratory supplies and manage inventory as needed
  • Follow strict safety protocols, including the daily use of personal protective equipment and occasional respirator use
  • Collaborate with a supervisory chemist while independently organizing and prioritizing your workload

Qualifications

  • High school diploma with coursework in chemistry required; bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical field
  • 1+ years of laboratory experience
