•Survey/CADD Technician


Depending on the position and department, responsibilities may include:

•Supporting the planning and design of civil engineering projects

•Preparing plans, calculations, reports, specifications, and permit documents

•Assisting with site development, transportation, stormwater management, utility, or infrastructure projects

•Using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or other design software

•Reviewing drawings, survey data, technical information, and applicable regulations

•Conducting site visits and supporting field investigations

•Coordinating with project managers, engineers, surveyors, clients, and agency representatives

•Participating in project meetings and documenting action items

•Maintaining accurate project files and technical documentation

•Learning J2’s standards, processes, and quality-control procedures



Requirements:

What We’re Looking For

•Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related discipline, completed or expected

•Relevant associate degree or technical training for design, CADD, and survey-related opportunities

•Internship, co-op, academic project, or related work experience preferred but not required

•Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, GIS, or similar tools is a plus

•Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

•Clear written and verbal communication skills

•Ability to manage priorities and contribute in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

•Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn

•Interest in pursuing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and Engineer-in-Training designation, when applicable
