The Job


The Performance Analyst position introduces you to the investment industry that offers multiple career paths and long-term growth. As a Performance Analyst, you will learn about the sector, global capital markets, and portfolio investments and then apply that knowledge to support team members in various departments across the firm. The primary responsibility of the Performance Analyst is to calculate and reconcile investment performance efficiently and accurately for our investment teams and clients. This position is based in Boston.


What You'll Do

  • Learn, then apply investment knowledge and sound judgment to select appropriate benchmarks and peer universe comparison for all investments and plans
  • Utilize various custodian bank downloads and data files for proprietary performance measurement system input
  • Utilize a proprietary database of client statements on a monthly basis to complete performance measurement calculations for all client investments
  • Maintain monthly cash flows for 25-30 assigned client accounts by calculating and reconciling monthly investment valuations, transactions, fees, and investment returns for marketable and nonmarketable investments
  • Calculate portfolio characteristics for client reports that include, but are not limited to, equity, fixed income, hedge funds, and real assets
  • Analyze client meeting reports in a timely manner and ensure all job-specific action items are handled through completion
  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly executive summaries and quarterly reports for client relationships
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree required, Finance or business-related field strongly preferred
  • Prior certification, progress towards or willingness to pursue CFA, CAIA preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail, strict adherence to deadlines, and advanced problem-solving skills on a consistent basis
  • Must be a team player with effective time management skills and the ability to multitask
  • Intermediate to advanced experience in PowerPoint and Excel, specifically with respect to financial functions and chart generation

Compensation:

  • This role is classified at grade level 4, with a starting base salary range of $56,900 - $69,700.
  • Where you fall within this range will be based on your skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. We typically aim to welcome a new employee on the lower end of the given salary range to ensure room to grow as performance measures are met.
  • In addition to base pay, all positions are bonus-eligible - because we believe your contributions should be recognized and rewarded.
