Overview

Job Purpose

The index analyst role is an entry level position that supports the ICE Data Indices business.  Analysts assist senior colleagues in collecting, validating and analyzing market and analytic financial instrument and index data to support index product development and maintenance and to respond to client inquiries.

 

Responsibilities

  • Index Calculation / Publication - Ensure accurate calculation of all intraday and End of Day Index Values, and accurate, complete, and timely delivery of all Index product files to internal and external clients
  • Serve as key resource in globalization efforts of our equity index business and coverage
  • Drive product integration and streamlining efforts bringing legacy product onto new tech stack
  • Research and validation of corporate actions impacting constituents of equity indices by consulting vendors, filings, and exchange sources
  • Responsible for maintaining production quality on current products while assisting in the onboarding of new indices, products and processes
  • Verify daily index and security-level pricing and analytics data; research and determine the appropriate disposition of identified exceptions
  • Prepare report templates, with standard charts and data tables, for regular research publications
  • Work with clients to understand their needs, escalating and prioritizing issues/questions, and reverting back in a timely and comprehensive fashion.
  • Collect data and prepare analyses in support of ad-hoc client requests

Knowledge and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in quantitative discipline i.e. Mathematics, Finance, Sciences
  • 2+ years' experience in the financial and/or market data industry
  • Basic knowledge of corporate actions, financial instruments and markets is a plus but not required provided the candidate demonstrates strong basic skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel, Word and familiarity with Office Suite. Must have experience in writing Python and Visual Basic macros
  • Strong analytic mindset with ability to piece separate processes as part of greater whole
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are helpful but not required
  • Must be able to work on some holidays

New York Base Salary Range 

The expected base salary for this role, if located in New York, is between $75,000 - 90,000 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange's incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual. Regular full-time ICE employees are eligible for a suite of competitive employee benefits, including healthcare coverage (medical, dental and vision), a 401(k) plan, life insurance, time off, and paid leave for qualifying circumstances.
