Your Opportunity

We are looking for a Junior Data Analyst, People Analytics to join our HR Operations team. This is an entry-level role within the People Analytics team, supporting the delivery of accurate, timely and meaningful workforce data and reporting.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their career who is interested in developing expertise in people analytics, data visualization and HR data. This replacement role provides exposure to a broad range of workforce data and business questions and offers the opportunity to build progressively stronger analytical and technical capabilities. You will be responsible for the following:

  • Maintain and update existing Power BI dashboards and reports, including routine data refreshes, validation and maintenance.
  • Respond to ad hoc reporting and data requests from HR and business stakeholders.
  • Clean, validate and prepare people data for reporting and analysis, identifying and resolving data quality issues, inconsistencies and discrepancies.
  • Provide first-line support for People Analytics reports and dashboards, investigating issues and potential root causes and escalating more complex issues as appropriate.
  • Assist users in understanding available reports, metrics and data to support effective use and interpretation of People Analytics information.
  • Identify recurring reporting questions and issues and contribute to solutions that improve the user experience and reduce repeat inquiries.
  • Conduct basic analysis, support components of larger analytical projects and summarize findings under the guidance of more senior team members.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize and automate recurring reporting, data preparation and related processes.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for reports, metrics, data definitions and recurring analytical processes.
  • Develop an understanding of HR data, business processes, workforce metrics and the flow of data from source systems such as Workday into reporting and analytics solutions, progressively building the ability to troubleshoot data issues and translate business questions into reporting and analytical requirements.
  • Handle employee and organizational data in accordance with established privacy, confidentiality and data governance practices.
  • Use approved AI tools to support analytical and reporting activities, including problem-solving, documentation, data exploration and process improvement, while applying appropriate judgment, validation and data privacy practices.

Your Experience and Education:

  • University degree or college diploma in a relevant discipline such as Business, Human Resources, Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Information Systems, Mathematics or a related field.
  • Suitable for a new graduate or candidate with early-career experience in reporting, analytics or data-related work.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets.
  • Experience with data analysis or visualization gained through coursework, internships, co-op placements or employment is an asset.
  • Exposure to Power BI or another business intelligence/data visualization tool is preferred.
  • Exposure to SQL, DAX or similar data querying languages is an asset but not required.
  • Exposure to Workday or other HR Information System (HRIS), and/or experience working with HR or workforce data, is an asset but not required.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Analytical and curious mindset with an interest in understanding why data may not look as expected.
  • Comfortable learning new technology, systems and data structures.
  • Ability to organize work and manage multiple reporting requests and deadlines.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Service-oriented approach when supporting internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively while also completing routine responsibilities independently.
  • Sound judgment when working with confidential and sensitive employee information.
  • Interest in developing a career in People Analytics, workforce reporting or data analytics.

The expected range of compensation for this role is $51,000 to $77,000 annually
