This role will play an important part in improving the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data used by business systems, customer-facing platforms, and digital integrations. The work is structured, repetitive, and detail-focused, requiring someone who can maintain accuracy and consistency while completing a high volume of similar validation and remediation tasks.
Working closely with data, business, and technology teams, you will help identify, investigate, validate, and resolve data issues while contributing to a major business transformation initiative. A significant portion of this role will involve contacting customers by phone to confirm or gather information, so comfort with professional phone conversations, follow-up, and accurate note-taking is essential. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or early-career professional looking to gain hands-on experience in data management, data governance, business systems, and digital transformation.
This role may be based in either Edmonton or Calgary for 4-6 months in duration in a hybrid work environment.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, validate, and update asset and customer data across multiple systems.
  • Perform data cleansing and remediation activities to improve data accuracy and completeness.
  • Conductfrequent customeroutreach, primarily byphone, to validate, confirm,and enrichcustomer and assetinformation.
  • Complete repetitive data validation, data entry, and follow-up activities with a high level of consistency and attention to detail.
  • Investigate data discrepancies and identify root causes of recurring data quality issues.
  • Track phone outreach outcomes, customer responses, and required follow-up actions clearly and accurately.
  • Document findings, patterns, and recommendations to support long-term improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed updates and audit trails.
  • Support reporting and measurement of data quality improvements and business outcomes.
  • Collaborate withITand business teams to prioritize and resolve issues.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a post-secondary program in:Information Technologyor Data Analyticsor BusinessAnalysisor Business AdministrationOr a related field.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confidence making professional phone calls to customers.
  • Comfortableperformingrepetitive, detail-oriented work for extended periodswhile maintainingaccuracy andquality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience conducting research, data validation,customer outreach
  • Experience or being comfortable with engaging customers via telephone to collect, verify, and update key information.

  • Understanding of data quality, data governance, or master data management principles.
