Job description: This position provides licensed financial and non-financial support to Ascend National Wealth Advisors and will serve as a resource to Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Financial Advisors. Individuals in this position will be focused on securities and investment advisory products and services as well as fixed and variable life, health, and annuities products and together with the Financial Advisors, will serve the financial and non-financial needs of Thrivent clients and their families. Responsibilities may include working with a Lead Advisor to develop and implement business and marketing plans to acquire, cultivate, and retain clients, prospecting and marketing, case and proposal preparation, referral generation, and building a sense of "community" with and among clients and prospects. The Associate Advisor reports to and is employed/contracted by the Lead Advisor. Thrivent Investment Management Inc. is the sponsor for FINRA registration and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is the sponsor for insurance licensure.

Responsibilities:
The Associate Advisor has the following responsibilities and duties:

  • Handle sensitive communications with members/customers, which may include highly confidential information and effectively respond through verbal and written communications to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Facilitate and/or co-present product specific seminars and/or workshops as necessary
  • Participate in business planning for the Practice as needed
  • Counsel and advise prospective and current members/customers on suitable financial products and investment advisory services
  • Open and complete product applications
  • Conducting substantive research or information gathering that will be used with making suitable securities product recommendations or providing appropriate investment advice (e.g. conducting due diligence, etc.)
  • Obtain member/customer financial and/or suitability information
  • Accepting and/or entering securities trade orders from customers, including unsolicited trade orders
  • Explain, discuss or interpret insurance coverage; analyze exposures or policies; provide recommendations
  • Issue certificates of insurance, endorsements, binders, commitments, or insurance contracts
  • Assist financial representatives in the preparation and follow up for the member/customer meetings
  • Collaborate with financial representatives to assist client with product changes
  • Participate and drive marketing services including direct-mail, fraternal activities, seminars, meetings
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned in accordance with licensure and business needs
  • participate in client meeting held by other advisors as directed
  • Work with CSA to send paperwork for client signature and follow-up as needed until signed.
  • Submit applications that require meeting with the client to complete.
  • Complete redemptions, purchases, exchanges, fund transfers, and other financial management requests from advisory team
  • Send appointment follow-up thank you and action items via email (Insights & Next Steps)
  • Monitor pending recommendation implementation, i.e. ensure that tasks are completed
  • Make follow-up calls that require licensing as requested by advisory team or Customer Service Coordinator
  • Respond to client emails or phone calls:
    • Assess current need of client including timeline
    • Directly respond to items that do not require specific case analysis
    • Communicate between client and planning team or lead advisor to answer questions that do require case analysis
  • Make calls with clients to request rollovers and transfers of their retirement accounts
  • Document all client interactions in Salesforce profile

Qualifications:

  • Securities registered (series 7 & 66 or 6 & 63)
  • WA State Life and Health insurance licensing
  • 3+ years customer service experience
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to thrive in high volume, fast paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of business technology such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Salesforce, and DocuSign or ability to learn
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and self-direct to meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain the integrity of sensitive/confidential information
  • Desire to work collaboratively and support peers
Compensation

Base salary ranging from $70,000 to $105,000, depending on experience, with additional performance-based incentive compensation.

As part of the Ascend National Wealth Advisors recruiting/hiring/contracting process, a verification of a candidate's background will be made to complete the process. Fingerprints will be required as part of FINRA registration process for submission to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for review against nationwide fingerprint records.
