Job description

Starting wage: $24.00โ€“$27.00 per hour

Essential Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers throughout the order management and delivery process.
  • Process customer orders received through EDI, eCommerce, manual entry, and customer-specific portals.
  • Communicate with customers regarding orders, inventory availability, pricing, delivery schedules, and logistics.
  • Work closely with the Distribution team each day to ensure orders are accurately released and available for warehouse processing.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure orders are efficiently built and prepared for transportation.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance and customers to address and resolve product quality concerns.
  • Communicate regularly with Demand Planning and Transportation to coordinate inventory, order requirements, and delivery schedules.
  • Work with Accounting team members to review daily invoicing and provide supporting documentation needed to address customer deductions.
  • Develop an understanding of market-based pricing and assist with managing and updating pricing on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Partner with Sales Representatives to communicate customer issues and concerns and provide feedback regarding orders, pricing, and logistics.
  • Work with Sales Representatives to understand customer pricing structures and strategies and help resolve pricing issues and discrepancies.
  • Access and manage customer portals as required to process orders, update information, and respond to customer requirements.
  • Work with customers and Transportation team members to manage purchase order updates, including add-ons, changes, and deletions.
  • Coordinate with customers and Transportation to resolve logistical issues, including delivery date changes, shorted product, and other order-related concerns.
  • Follow customer issues through to resolution while maintaining clear communication with all affected parties.
  • Cross-train with other Customer Relations team members to provide coverage and backup support.
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting and other department projects as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to customer orders, pricing, and communications.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong computer skills, including Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to learn and navigate new systems and customer portals.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and recognize what requires immediate attention.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage issues from identification through resolution.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered.
  • Previous customer service or customer relations experience.
  • Experience working with supply chain logistics, including order management, distribution, transportation, and interfacing with sales teams.
  • Experience with sales, reporting, or business intelligence tools.
  • Experience working with EDI, eCommerce platforms, or customer-specific ordering portals.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing, distribution, or consumer products (CPG) environment.
