POSITION SUMMARY:
We are currently looking for an entry-level Accounting Assistant to join our Corporate Finance and Accounting team. The Accounting Assistant will support a variety of corporate accounting functions, with an emphasis on Accounts Payable. The Accounting Assistant will be located in Maine, preferably within commuting distance to our Hallowell, Maine headquarters office. Other responsibilities include journal entry posting, depositing checks to the bank, accounts receivable posting, account reconciliations, assisting with annual audit documentation collection as well as other clerical and accounting duties as necessary. In addition, he/she will be cross-trained on a variety of accounting functions to serve as a backup to other finance staff when needed.
This is an entry-level position, ideal for a recent college or technical school graduate.
The successful candidate will be a creative and resourceful thinker who is energetic, self-motivated, and eager to take on new challenges. This individual should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a growing organization. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, partners, and the public are essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility, strong organizational and time-management skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs.
LOCATION AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: The primary location of this position is hybrid, at least 1 day per week in the Hallowell, ME office, with the remainder of time worked in a home-based office free from distractions.
PAY GRADE: Grade 2 (Maine pay range: $42,000-$53,000, non-exempt).

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business or financial related field with 0-1 year of office experience; or an Associate's degree with 2 years of related work experience; or 4 years of related experience with a high school diploma.
