Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is looking for a creative and  energetic individual to join our Marketing and Communications Team in Calgary. As you grow your career with Wood, you will gain experience in the thriving markets of Energy Transition, Hydrogen, Alternative Fuels, and Conventional Energy. This role will allow you to work with the team locally and internationally, gaining insight and experience from or Marketing and Communications Experts worldwide.

Responsibilities include:

  • Promote employee engagement and the internal culture of Wood, communicating and facilitating various programs
  • Collaborate with wider team to develop creative culture, there will be a requirement to share work with others and discuss areas for continuous improvement
  • Maintain presentation database, updating material as required
  • Support the needs of the VP of Strategy and Development, working to meet the goals of the local and international team
  • Support the Proposal Team on an as-needed basis including formatting, CVs, experience lists and creation of non-technical content
  • Act as brand ambassador and local point of contact for Company templates, toolkits, etc.
  • Event marketing - plan and organize multiple events such as webinars, safety days, customer appreciation events and industry events. Responsibilities include securing budget, confirming venue and menu, maintaining invitation list, inviting clients, managing reception at event and post event feedback
  • Conferences & Industry Events - coordinate conference presence and attendance including securing sponsorship and registrations, providing logos/bios, ordering and distributing swag, developing presentations, profiling on social media, pulling marketing materials, running booth and acting as conference point of contact
  • Assist in the development of marketing collateral and supplies including brochures, trade show booths, banners, swag, etc.
  • Create and facilitate the delivery of content, internal and external, including speeches, presentations and/or written communications
  • Other administrative tasks as required to assist in Marketing, Communications and Business Development
Skills / Qualifications

This is an entry-level position. However, candidates with experience (or work-term) in the Oil and Gas, Construction, or Conventional Energy Industries will be given preference.

Post-Secondary education in business administration, marketing, communications, or related experience is preferred.

The successful candidate will posess the following skills and personal attributes:

  • Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint. Other design and presentation software is an asset but not required
  • Excellent customer-focus and service delivery skills
  • Strong organizational, coordination, problem solving and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong proofreading, editing and business software skills (style, format, grammar, etc.)
  • Experience in marketing techniques (layout, graphics, value proposition) preferred
