Job description

Texican Court - Las Colinas is located in Irving, TX and is a pillar of the community. Our hotel is unique to the city and we are looking for outstanding talent to provide exceptional customer service to our guests. We are part of Valencia Hotel Group, our collection of hotels are created for today's passionate traveler, each of our hotels are intentionally built to showcase modern design and classic character. We are looking for team members who are ready to be empowered to go above and beyond.
Job summary:
Provide friendly service and an upscale dining experience for guests. To include waiting on tables, market, sell and serve all meal items
Shift requirements:
  • Evening shifts: 3pm-11pm

Responsibilities
  • Contribute positively to the team within the department
  • Prepare for any and all guest requests
  • Participate in on-going training
  • Comply with Valencia Hotel Group (and its affiliates) standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Valencia Hotel Group (and its affiliates) standards as required by scheduling which will vary dependent upon the hotels needs
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Supervisor
  • Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up, and dress code of the restaurant.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies and service procedures
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections, glassware, and garnishes in the restaurant
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, prices, preparation method/time, major ingredients, and quality standards of taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, garnish, and method of presentation.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving.
  • Organize assigned stations and ensure readiness prior to guest arrival.
  • Greet guests and suggest beverage order, utilizing upselling techniques.
  • Relay daily specials with brief descriptions; answer all questions on menu selections accurately and offer suggestions.
  • Take guests' orders utilizing upselling techniques and record all orders following service standards.
  • Input orders into system and ensure transmission of orders is verified by kitchen when assigned to do so.
  • Work closely with kitchen team in assigned station on service and timing.
  • Monitor and anticipate guest needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests even when busy.
  • Maintain positive guest relations. Be familiar with all hotel services/features.
  • Handle guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Total all charges, present guest checks according to procedure, and process checks according to departmental policy.
  • Adhere to payment, cash handling, credit card, and room charge policies and procedures.
  • Assist Food Runners as required to ensure optimum service levels.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, etc. as scheduled.
  • Assist with any side work or additional prep work
