Job Summary: The Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) Technician/Engineer will be responsible for designing, programming, installing, testing, and maintaining Rockwell systems for industrial machinery and equipment. They will work closely with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure efficient and safe operation of the systems. 

Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Develop and program PLC systems using ladder logic or other programming languages 
  • Test and troubleshoot PLC systems to identify and resolve any malfunctions 
  • Install and commission new PLC systems and equipment 
  • Modify and upgrade existing PLC systems to improve functionality and efficiency 
  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure integration and compatibility of systems 
  • Monitor and maintain PLC systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime 
  • Document all PLC system modifications, upgrades, and maintenance activities 
  • Train other team members on the use and maintenance of PLC systems 

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience 
  • 2+ years of experience in designing, programming, and maintaining PLC systems 
  • Proficiency in PLC programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagram 

Individual Development (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):  

  • Knowledge of industrial automation technologies and processes 
  • Familiarity with electrical and mechanical engineering principles 
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing or industrial environment Exceptional Communication Skills 
  • Must be able to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs  
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
