*This position is based out of our Michigan plant at 14898 Koehn Rd, Capac, MI 48014, United States*
Where does the Quality Control Inspector fit in?
The QC Inspector ensures quality of manufactured goods by performing inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies or finished goods according to well defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/or electrical measurements.
The Inspector will be responsible for performing various verifications including- quick visual inspections, perform complex tests using high precision instruments, gages and equipment, test measure and analyze products & perform sample testing. The inspector would have to accurately document results of performed inspections as per the Quality Management System.
What you can expect as our next Quality Control Inspector:
  • Performs incoming, in-process, final inspections, product and process audits
  • Performs and documents accurate measurements and visual inspections as per Control Plan criteria
  • Records inspection or test data; calculates results; writes test or inspection reports
  • Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products, and recommend necessary corrective actions
  • Prepares sample boards
  • Evaluates and reports waste / scrap
  • Ensures product is produced to quality standards and works for conformance to specification
  • Determines acceptability, identifies and recommends disposition of defective items in accordance with established procedures; initiate Non-Conformance Reports as required
  • Assists in performing capability studies and Measurement system analysis
  • Observes and reads instruments, gauges, dials, etc. to determine operating conditions
  • Carries out written and verbal instructions to support quality processes
  • Collaborates with Shift Leaders and Quality Engineers to resolve quality concerns.
  • Ensures that quality system standards are maintained
  • Writes daily quality reports, Quality Alerts, Quality Evaluation Reports (QER's), maintaining required logs, containment reports
  • Works independently or as part of a team, accepting reassignment of duties as may be necessary.
  • Flexibility to change the shift if required

Do you have what it takes to be our next Quality Control Inspector?
  • Minimum secondary school diploma
  • 2 years working experience in quality control, preferable from plastic processing industry
  • Community college education in the quality field is preferred
  • ASQ certified Quality Inspector (CQI) would be an asset.
  • Basic understanding of statistical process control
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and part drawings
  • Ability to use inspection, measurement and test equipment including but not limited to: Micrometers, Calipers, Indicators, Pin gages, Checking Fixtures, etc.
  • Detail oriented, have the ability to maintain accurate records including transferring data to electronic files.
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Basic computer skills and Proficient with software applications applicable to the job
  • Attention to detail and 5S
  • Ensures compliance to IATF 16949 systems and procedures
