Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a Systems Engineer II to join a growing Systems Engineering team supporting the development and transition of complex hardware and software systems into production. This role offers the opportunity to work across multidisciplinary engineering teams, contribute to critical design activities, manage technical baselines, and support system verification and validation efforts throughout the product lifecycle.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem solver with experience in systems engineering processes, requirements management, and technical reviews within highly regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, analyze, and maintain functional and performance requirements baselines.
  • Ensure requirements traceability and verification using industry-standard tools such as DOORS or equivalent.
  • Support system architecture development, trade studies, and solution selection activities.
  • Lead and facilitate technical design reviews and technical working sessions.
  • Coordinate with integration and test teams to develop verification strategies and test plans.
  • Create and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs), verification matrices, and other critical engineering artifacts.
  • Execute verification activities, analyze test results, and resolve technical discrepancies.
  • Manage configuration baselines and perform impact assessments for engineering changes.
  • Prepare technical documentation, status reports, risk assessments, and executive-level presentations.
  • Mentor junior team members and promote collaboration across systems, software, electrical, and mechanical engineering disciplines.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to organizational best practices and lessons learned initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience in systems engineering, preferably within aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of requirements management, system verification, and validation processes.
  • Experience with systems engineering tools such as:
    • DOORS
    • Cameo
    • MATLAB
    • Similar modeling or requirements management tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance required prior to start.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting complex hardware/software development programs.
  • Familiarity with inertial navigation or related technologies.
  • Experience supporting major engineering reviews, including:
    • Systems Requirements Review (SRR)
    • System Functional Review (SFR)
    • Preliminary Design Review (PDR)
    • Critical Design Review (CDR)
  • Understanding of configuration management and systems integration processes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00/hr.
