Locksmith - Access Control Systems Specialist

FLAGLER TECHNOLOGIES Security Team — Boca Raton, FL (Hybrid)

Who Are We?

We’re more than just an IT and security solutions provider—we’re a team committed to delivering exceptional service while fostering growth and development within our ranks. Our mission is to empower skilled tradespeople and professionals by creating opportunities for leadership and career advancement. When you join us, you become part of a team that’s as invested in your success as we are in providing top-tier security solutions to our clients. Ready to take the next step? Let’s dive into what this role has to offer.

What Does a Typical Day Look Like in This Role?

As a Locksmith specializing in access control systems, you will work with a variety of clients to install, repair, and maintain locks, keys, and electronic security systems. You’ll conduct site assessments, design security solutions tailored to client needs, and ensure all systems are operating correctly. A core part of this role involves installing and servicing electromagnetic locking systems—the kind that keep badge-access and fingerprint-controlled doors secured—including mag-locks, door hardware, and the associated low voltage cabling that ties it all together. You can expect a mix of scheduled installations and urgent service calls throughout the day. You’ll collaborate with internal teams—including support staff, engineering, and sales—to address technical queries and resolve issues efficiently. The goal is to end each day knowing you’ve helped clients protect what matters most and contributed to your team’s overall success.

Throughout the day, we’ll stay connected as a team, check in with leads, and work together to tackle challenges. By the end of your shift, you’ll know you’ve delivered real security value to clients and supported your teammates.

What Will You Be Responsible For?

In this role, you will design, implement, and manage access control systems—including electromagnetic locks (mag-locks), electronic keypads, card readers, and biometric scanners—and conduct security assessments to recommend the right solutions for each situation. You will perform and support low voltage cabling work associated with door access systems as needed. You will also apply the full range of traditional locksmith skills—rekeying locks, replacing and repairing door hardware, duplicating keys, and servicing deadbolts, knob sets, and exit devices—to support our clients day to day. You will maintain accurate service records and inventory logs, and deliver excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries promptly and professionally. Beyond the technical work, you’ll serve as a product evangelist—promoting our security solutions, highlighting competitive advantages and ROI, and participating in industry events and conferences. You’ll also collaborate closely with our internal teams across support, engineering, sales, and management to resolve issues and stay ahead of the latest advancements in locksmithing and access control technology.

What Qualifications or Experience Do I Need?

For this role, you must demonstrate strong knowledge of access control systems, electromagnetic door hardware, and electronic security devices, along with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues across both electronic and mechanical systems. You must also have proven experience with traditional locksmith work—rekeying, lock replacement, key duplication, and servicing a wide range of mechanical hardware. Good working experience with low voltage cabling in the context of door access systems is a plus. Those with relevant certifications or licenses in locksmithing and access control will be given preference. Beyond that, all team members must be humble, hungry, and people smart—these qualities form the foundation we need to help you succeed in this role and grow your career in security services.

Here’s what we look for in our Locksmith- Access Control Specialists:

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to locks and access control devices
  • Comfort working with low voltage cabling associated with door access and security systems
