Lead Control Systems Engineer
Overview
Senior Controls Systems Engineers are responsible for designing and leading building automation projects. Day to day tasks will be determined by the specific requirements of each project..
Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Sales Support (10%)
o Provide technical guidance and act as a part of the leadership team for a project team of 25 engineers
o Identify and assign tasks within the project team
o Assist with change order generation by estimating hardware costs and the engineering effort required for changes in project scope
Instrumentation & Electrical Design (20%)
o Create instrument lists by examining P&ID drawings
o Evaluate instrumentation (temperature transmitters, pressure transmitters, flow meter, valve actuators, etc...) and select devices appropriate for the project
o Evaluate and select controls hardware appropriate for the project
o Compile submittal documentation for controls and instrument hardware
o Create panel layouts and electrical schematics for controls enclosures
o Procure project hardware
o Provide technical support for panel fabrication technicians
o Inspect completed control enclosures
System Design and Configuration (20%)
o Lead customer design review meetings
o Configure user interface and HMI screens
o Configure DDC, PLC and/or DCS control algorithms
o Execute internal functional and quality control testing
o Draft system documentation
o Assist is customer demonstrations and acceptance testing
Onsite System Startup (50%)
o Install project software and configuration onto site systems
o Participate in point to point loop checks for all instrumentation
o Perform software calibration and tuning
o Conduct functional tests of all systems
o Troubleshoot installation discrepancies
o Support additional customer testing
o Program field modifications as required
o Train customer representatives on operations and maintenance of system
Resume Key Words Increasing Viability of Candidate
• Expertise in any of the following control systems & software platforms:
o Rockwell Automation (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, Factory Talk)
o Schneider (Modicon, AVEVA, Citect, PI, Wonderware/Archestra)
o Inductive Automation Ignition
o Distech
o Niagara
• Electrical low voltage installation and subcontractor management experience
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems in large building automation systems, HVAC sequences of operation, P&IDs, instrumentation & control valves, and plant utility systems including chiller & boiler plants, and electrical switchgear & single line diagrams detailing distribution of electricity throughout a facility.
• Onsite commissioning experience
• Understanding of Good Automated Manufacturing Practices (GAMP)

• All offices & major 2025 project sites
Total Seeking
1-2 per office and major project site (up to 32 total)
Compensation
$80k - $110k, depending on experience, travel perks at major project sites, 2x/year bonus
