About This Role

The Sea Systems team is seeking highly qualified candidates to function as an experienced Systems Engineer supporting our unmanned surface vessel product development initiatives and our contract programs. The strong candidate will possess a broad knowledge base in multiple engineering disciplines and be able to execute in both R&D and production environments. Required experience includes hardware and/or software integration, managing requirements derivation and allocation, overseeing technical execution of engineering projects, and successfully working within a collaborative team environment.  A desire to take ownership of design efforts to integrate new technology into our vehicles and payloads is essential.
Roles and responsibilities include:
    Lead full-life cycle engineering design and development activities for the CUSV platform.
    Lead and/or perform requirements analysis, systems modeling (SYSML), trade studies, requirements derivation, design review support, integration planning, test, verification, risk management, and engineering analysis.
    Development of systems architectures and concepts of operations.
    Use technical acumen and problem-solving skills toward the execution of systems engineering tasks.
    Perform a review of engineering work products to ensure technically accurate and quality work products.
    Prepare and present systems engineering work products to internal review teams and external customers at program IPT meetings and milestone reviews.
    Generate solid systems engineering task Basis of Estimates and manage Earned Value for systems engineering design/development cost accounts as Cost Account Manager.
    Generate subcontract statements of work and manage outside subcontractor performance.
    Provide tasking to junior systems engineering team on your program and mentorship to support task completion.
    Joint management of the CUSV JIRA Problem Change Report (PCR) Database and PCR adjudication and resolution process.
    Lead and/or perform systems engineering content for Engineering Change Proposals and Requests for Deviation.
    Interact daily with program managers, planners, engineers, and technicians.
    Drive tasks to completion independently.
    Travel in support of project execution and testing as required, up to 15%.

Qualifications

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (or related technical field) with 5 or more years related experience or master's degree in engineering (or related technical field) with 3 or more years related experience or Ph.D. in Engineering (or related technical field) with up to 2 years' related experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with customers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team through the engineering lifecycle.
  • Effective writing and presentation skills.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio).
  • Active Secret Clearance preferred; Secret eligibility required.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience with DOORS, MagicDraw, JIRA, and EMatrix is preferred.
  • Experience in a DoD environment and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) are preferred.
  • Experience in unmanned system design and development.
  • Control Account Management Experience in a DoD environment is preferred.
