As a company, we constantly challenge what's possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.
Role Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Technical Trades Instructor to help shape the careers of entry-level employees entering the Electric Vehicle (EV) technician workforce. In this role, you will deliver hands-on training, guide learners through complex technical concepts, and ensure they acquire the essential skills needed for success. Responsibilities
  • Cultivate strong partnerships with collaborating colleges for the Rivian Technical Trades program.
  • Contribute to the development of service programming content for the program curriculum.
  • Facilitate training in soft skills, empathy, de-escalation tactics, and customer service for Technical Trades students.
  • Maintain accurate program documentation, including student rosters, attendance, training records, and curriculum compliance.
  • Lead and take ownership of management responsibility relating to hiring, performance management, and overall Technical Trades Program Technician development
  • Engage with service stakeholders and leadership to gather feedback and strengthen program alignment.
  • Support recruitment efforts, including interview events, application reviews, and student onboarding.
  • Optimize onboarding processes and procedures in collaboration with partnering institutions.
  • Represent the Rivian Technical Trades program at workshops and speaking events to promote student engagement.
  • Stay current on EV technology advancements and integrate updates into curriculum delivery
  • Coordinate hands-on lab sessions, ensuring proper use and maintenance of training equipment and tools

Qualifications
  • Experience with automotive training programs.
  • A university degree or certificate in Automotive Technology is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or digital training platforms
  • Prior teaching, coaching, or mentoring experience in a technical or trades environment
  • Proactive, flexible, confident, professional, and self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Thrives when working independently and contributing strongly as a member of a high-performing team.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and serve as a partner/consultant to Service Leadership and partnering Colleges.
  • Strong facilitation and interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • Friendly, approachable, and outgoing personality with a passion for motivating others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated confidence and professionalism.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
