Job description

DESCRIPTION
The Project Engineer supports the project team by making sure drawings, documents, and project information are accurate, current, and shared with the right people. This role focuses on learning how projects are run while helping the team stay organized and informed.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure safety protocols are carried out, specifically all reporting and PPE requirements as required by
OSHA, company and project site
• Regularly spends time in the field with the Superintendent and crews to learn DEC/SEC installation 
methods and scope requirements.
• Work with DEC/SEC Engineering Teams to understand the product lines that CML uses in our typical scopes of work.
• Reviews drawings and specifications, ensuring the team is working from the latest information. Sends updated drawings or changes to the field and project team
• Creates and tracks RFIs, submittals, and document logs. Communicates any changes with the project team.
• Tracks project documentation and follow up when responses are late
• Work with the project team to call out any project schedule changes or concerns.
• Maintains project logs, compliance records, and documentation in company systems
• Work with project team to prepare pay applications and collect supporting information or documentation required
• Participates in project team’s monthly financial projections.
• Assists with change order documentation and tracking
• Attend project meetings and records action items
• Help create punch lists and track closeout items
• Routinely audits project documentation to ensure project information is recorded correctly
• May be required to work outside of normal business hours, as dictated by project needs
• Maintain the standards, culture and values of CML Security
• Lift up to 50lbs
• Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
• Bachelor’s degree and/or 1-2 Years of related experience preferred
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• Strong skills in Microsoft Suite of Software, Microsoft Project, Adobe or Bluebeam, Sage 100 Contractor or similar accounting software


PROJECT ENGINEER
• Previous Procore software usage preferred
• Construction knowledge preferred
• Valid Driver’s License
• OSHA-30 certification


WORK ENVIRONMENT & CONDITIONS
• This role works in a combination office, project field office, and active construction job site environment, with 
frequent interaction with Project Management, Field Operations, Engineering, vendors, subcontractors, clients, and other project stakeholders.
• Job site visits may include exposure to active construction conditions, moving equipment, noise, dust, uneven 
walking surfaces, ladders, stairs, outdoor weather conditions, secured or detention/correctional environments, and other site-specific conditions.
• This role is expected to follow all company, client, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements, including required reporting and the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• This role may require travel to project locations and may require work outside of normal business hours 
based on project needs, deadlines, inspections, meetings, or field conditions.
• Physical demands may include prolonged periods of sitting and computer work, standing, walking job sites, 
climbing stairs or ladders as needed, bending, reaching, and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds
