Job description

Meridian Blue is seeking safety-conscious, hardworking, and dependable individuals who want to start their careers in the wireless telecommunications industry. 
The Civil Construction Crew Member will perform general non-climbing construction of cellular sites to include, but not limited to: site preparation, excavation, access road/compound (grading, gravel, fencing, etc.), Concrete foundations, electrical/telco H frames, cell tower site maintenance/repair; operate equipment to include trucks with trailers, power tools, and non-powered tools.
This position will assist in the building or servicing of each tower job as defined by the clients scope of work and construction drawings under the direction of the Civil Crew Leader. This encompasses, but is not limited to, loading and unloading all job materials, maintaining all tools, trucks and equipment used by the tower crew, understanding the scope of work and constructing the project per specifications in a timely manner.
Compensation

  • $20/hr. Starting Compensation for this entry-level position.
  • Looking for individuals who are available to start immediately! Training provided, so no previous experience is required.
  • Eligible for full-time benefits after 60 days. See specific benefits listed below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • Previous experience in a construction / building trade or related field preferred.
  • Attend a daily tailgate meeting to address daily tasks and safety.
  • Safely operate heavy equipment, including skid loaders, excavators., etc.
  • Take direction from the Civil Crew Lead to build the job following the scope of work/construction drawings.
  • Verify that all tools, equipment, and stocked supplies on your truck & trailer are available and in working order.
  • Take direction from and perform the job following the scope of work / construction drawings or customer's instructions.
  • Perform all work in a safe, professional manner.
  • Check the oil & fluids of each truck & inspect each of your job trailer(s) and each piece of equipment in your charge before use.
  • Report any deviations from the scope of work / construction drawings to the Crew Leader.
  • Take pictures of final work and provide all turnover documentation to Project Coordinator.
  • Report any safety concerns to the Civil Crew Lead/Health and Safety Manager.
  • Hand digging 3 ft deep trenches.
  • Installing conduit in trench.
  • Installing ground ring.
  • Installing H-Frame.
  • Forming concrete pad.
  • Pick up trash on site daily.
  • Clean out truck(s) and trailer(s) after each job and put materials and equipment away.
  • Begin preparations for next job.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of time, with typical overnight stays lasting Monday Friday, sometimes longer (infrequently), and work / stay out of state.

Physical Requirements
 
  • Ability to climb a ladder
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to bend, lift, twist, squat, kneel and sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to reach, climb, and/or grasp ladders or other tall structures
  • Operation of truck/heavy machinery
  • ability to distinguish basic colors, operation of power/hand tools, read documents & maps (in English)
  • Ability to perform a variety of labor-intensive tasks, operate power, and hand tools and
  • Ability to work outdoors in ALL weather conditions; this includes extreme temperatures (cold & heat)

Preferred Qualifications
 
  • CDL Class A Driver’s License

Qualifications
 
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow company policies.
  • Ability to pass background checks, DOT physical, and abide by Company Drug & Alcohol Policy
  • Ability to pass and maintain CPR/First Aid AED, OSHA 10, RF Radiation Safety Awareness, and Competent Climber Certifications.
  • Ability to perform basic computer functions
  • Minnesota/Wisconsin resident or willing to relocate within 30 days of hire.
