Job description

Founded in 1998 with a mission to provide integrated ecological and engineering consulting services, Princeton Hydro offers specialized expertise in natural resource management, water resources engineering, geotechnical design and investigation, and regulatory compliance.

We are currently seeking a passionate and driven Entry-Level Civil Engineer who is excited to make a positive impact through innovative and sustainable engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will love to work on surface water projects, including stormwater management, hydrologic & hydraulic monitoring, lake restoration, flood risk management, wetlands creation and mitigation, and coastal resiliency projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Technical analyses and calculations related to various civil engineering applications including stormwater management, river and wetland restoration;  
  • Assist with stormwater management review, inspections and summary reports; 
  • Collaborate with project managers to address engineering challenges and progressively take ownership of project tasks;
  • Perform construction-related field work and/or oversight (e.g., subgrade, foundations, earthwork, stormwater  management facilities, etc.);  
  • Assist with preparing project design plans, technical specifications, engineer's estimates, and complete critical path project schedules;  
  • Utilize various hydrologic/hydraulic software applications as needed (i.e.: HydroCAD and HEC-RAS);
  • Work directly with your manager and other staff to ensure 1) the delivery of a quality product, 2) tasks are accomplished on schedule, and 3) client satisfaction;  
  • Travel to sites and other offices, as needed;  
  • Related tasks or efforts as directed by your manager, in addition to the above listed responsibilities.  
  • Working under a Professional Engineer in pursuit of a professional license


MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental, Bioenvironmental, or other related BS/BE degree;
  • 0-2 years of relative experience or willingness to learn site/civil design including site grading, stormwater analysis, erosion/sediment control measures and earthworks estimation;
  • Strong technical writing skills;
  • Possess willingness to learn, be mentored, and develop professionally;
  • Ability to work both independently and as a key component of our team;  
  • Willingness to perform various field work as needed to collect data, provide construction observation services, and assist in implementation of projects for our field services practice area;  
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.;  
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.


DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with stormwater calculations;
  • Possession of a current Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certificate
