🔧 Make Water Work. Make an Impact That Matters.

Field Service Technician | Toronto, ON

If you enjoy handson technical work, learning in the field, and supporting systems people rely on every day, this role was made for you.

As a Field Service Technician, you'll be on the front lines of Xylem's mission-helping municipalities and customers keep critical wastewater and pumping systems running safely and reliably. You won't just service equipment. You'll support essential infrastructure that communities depend on.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their field service career who wants strong training, real responsibility, and a clear path for growth.

🔥 Why This Role Is Different
  • You'll gain handson experience with realworld water and wastewater systems
  • You'll work in the field alongside experienced technicians who invest in your success
  • You'll interact directly with customers and see the impact of your work immediately
  • You'll be part of a global organization tackling one of the world's most important challenges: water
🛠 What You'll Be Doing
  • Supporting startups, commissioning, and preventative maintenance of wastewater pumping systems at customer sites
  • Performing basic troubleshooting on submersible pumps (Flygt) and electrical control panels
  • Conducting hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical testing on equipment
  • Assisting with emergency callouts and service responses when needed
  • Reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and service documentation
  • Operating and maintaining a service truck, tools, and equipment (including cranes, forklifts, and shop equipment as trained)
  • Working directly with customers to communicate findings, next steps, and service outcomes
  • Documenting service activities using mobile devices and Microsoft Office tools
  • Following established safety practices at all times-for yourself, your team, and the customer
📍 Where You'll Make an Impact

You'll support customers throughout the Toronto / Greater Toronto Area, representing Xylem onsite while helping maintain safe and reliable wastewater infrastructure across the region.

🎯 What We're Looking For

Required:

  • A strong interest in field service, mechanical, electrical, or technical work
  • Comfort working handson in industrial or outdoor environments
  • Willingness to travel locally and occasionally be on call
  • Ability to learn and follow safety procedures and technical instructions
  • Valid commercial driver's license and ability to operate a service vehicle
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, mobile apps)

Preferred:

  • Prior experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, or pump systems
  • Exposure to wastewater, utilities, industrial equipment, or field service environments
  • Ability to read basic schematics or wiring diagrams
  • Forklift, crane, or industrial equipment experience (training provided if not)
💪 The Kind of Technician Who Thrives Here

You're dependable, curious, and eager to learn. You take pride in doing handson work the right way and understand the importance of safety, teamwork, and customer trust. You're comfortable asking questions, building skills, and growing into bigger responsibilities over time.

You know that strong service keeps essential operations running-and that your work truly matters.

💰 What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly pay with overtime opportunities
  • 4 weeks of paid time off for hourly employees
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits starting on Day 1
  • Investment savings plan with company contribution
  • Companyprovided tools, equipment, and service vehicle
