Overview

CTG is seeking to fill a Document Custodian Reviewer opening for our client in Buffalo, NY.

Location: Buffalo, NY
Duration: 12 months

Overview:
The Document Custodian Reviewer will be responsible for the entry-level review of documents from institutional clients, identifying exceptions, and ensuring compliance with agency guidelines and custodial agreements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct basic data matching of documents based on agency guidelines or custodial agreements for non-agency documents for institutional clients.
  • Match data in the Document Custody tracking system to original documents.
  • Determine if a document is an original or a copy and update the tracking system accordingly.
  • Follow established procedures to review documents and update the tracking system with any exceptions found or addressed.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in line with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote a supportive environment that reflects the M&T Bank brand and encourages diversity.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points and addressing issues raised by external regulators.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:
The Document Custodian Reviewer will work independently under general supervision, performing document reviews and data entry tasks. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to regulatory compliance and internal standards.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
This position does not have supervisory or managerial responsibilities.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Associate's degree,
  • OR in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 2 years of higher education and/or work experience.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and email software.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good alpha/numeric skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Ability to work under time constraints while maintaining accuracy.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift 30 - 50 pounds.
  • Able to climb on a ladder and/or stool and bend for filing.
  • Able to stand for long periods.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
