Job description

This position is an entry level position for individuals who are seeking to learn critical skills related to the means and methods used in the construction of electrical substations, transmission lines, and renewable energy (solar and wind) collection systems. They will also acquire a strong understanding of the requirements associated with daily reporting, quality assurance/quality control, environmental compliance, and safety compliance. The FCMA may be asked to stand in for the FCM if needed. Strong computer and organizational skills are essential for a FCMA. It is expected that upon mastery of skills and assignments related to the position of Field Construction Manager Assistant (FCMA) will progress to a position of Field Construction Manager (FCM).

The position of a FCMA is an important support role in the organization. The FCMA provides critical support to the Field Construction Manager who is directly responsible for the actual construction of complex projects. The FCMA is responsible for assisting the FCM with administrative duties associated with the project, secondary supervision of subcontractor’s activities, material receiving, accurate material inventory, safety support, quality control/quality assurance support, daily on-site reporting support, and environmental compliance inspections. This position reports directly to the on-site Field Construction Manager for all project specific issues and reports to the Field Construction Manager Superintendent for assignment to the projects, for general installation practices, and inspection processes. Field Construction Manager Assistants are not assigned to a specific location and are expected to support projects nationwide.

Minimum Requirements: Be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and provide clear leadership for all subcontractors involved in the execution of the project, have a positive attitude and be able to work cooperatively with clients, colleagues, engineers, subcontractors, and clients, have a sense of urgency and ability to push projects forward without sacrificing quality or safety. The successful applicant will be subject to client-mandated drug and background checking and is subject to EPC Services Company’s auto insurance carrier requirements. Applicants must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status) now or in the future.
