Entry-Level Hotel Maintenance Engineer

Location: Hilton Madison Monona Terrace - Madison, WI

Schedule: Flexible Schedule Preferred

Are you someone who likes to stay one step ahead, ensuring everything runs smoothly long before issues appear? We are seeking a dedicated Preventative Maintenance Technician to help keep our property operating safely, efficiently, and reliably through routine inspections and proactive care.

As part of the Hilton Madison Monona Terrace family, you will join a team that values craftsmanship, consistency, and guest satisfaction. Our property is known for its welcoming atmosphere and exceptional service - and your work behind the scenes will help ensure every guest experiences the best of what we offer.

What Will You Be Doing?

In this hands-on, forward-focused role, you will support hotel operations by identifying and addressing maintenance needs early, helping preserve equipment life and prevent unexpected downtime:

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance across building systems and guest-facing areas
  • Inspect, test, and service equipment including HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical components
  • Document inspections, repairs, and performance trends for engineering leadership
  • Identify potential issues and recommend proactive solutions
  • Keep equipment, tools, and work areas clean, safe, and organized
  • Assist with minor repairs as needed to support overall engineering operations

What Will You Bring to the Role?

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to safety and efficiency. You will also bring:

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Must be able to perform basic math
  • 3 to 4 years previous experience as a general repairman preferred.
  • Ability to use all general repair tools
  • Ability to read simple drawings and specifications
  • Ability to make rough estimates of required materials
  • Ability to recognize early warning signs of mechanical issues and take corrective action
  • Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • A team-first attitude and a commitment to consistent, high-quality work
  • Availability to work mornings Monday through Friday, including weekends or holidays as needed
