Job description

Engineering Support Specialist

Haumiller Engineering is a 100% employee-owned company that designs and builds custom high-speed automation assembly machines for medical devices, consumer goods and industrial manufacturing.

The Engineering Support Specialist is responsible for supporting the mechanical engineering department in a variety of functions, including maintaining technical documentation, supporting engineering operations, and providing CAD/PDM system administration and support. This position plays a key role in supporting day-to-day engineering operations and assisting engineers with technical and administrative tasks throughout projects.

This is an entry level position in the Mechanical Engineering department.

This position is 100% onsite in our South Elgin, IL location. Occasional travel to our Belvidere, IL location may be required.

What You Will Do:

โ€ข Serve as the primary CAD and PDM Administrator, working with IT to maintain system performance and support the engineering department

โ€ข Complete technical writing tasks including engineering standards, work instructions, and customer-facing documentation such as ownerโ€™s manuals

โ€ข Work with Purchasing, Service, Sales, and other departments to research and resolve parts-related inquiries, including identifying components and supporting order requests

โ€ข Support BOM comparison, validation, and synchronization between CAD/PDM and ERP system

โ€ข Perform mechanical design and detailing

โ€ข Identify opportunities for improvement and communicate CAD best practices to the engineering team

What You Will Bring:

โ€ข Minimum of a 2-year technical degree or certificate with emphasis on mechanical design or equivalent experience

โ€ข Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred

โ€ข Experience with CAD/PDM administration preferred

โ€ข Ability to develop technical documents including standards and procedural instructions.

โ€ข Ability to read and modify engineering drawings and 3D solid models

โ€ข Experience with the following software: SolidWorks, PDM, ERP, AutoCAD, DraftSight, Outlook, Excel, Word
