Job description

Solar Mechanic 

SUMMARY 

Mortenson is currently seeking a Mechanic that will be responsible for performing all functions needed for an onsite mechanic and maintenance of all heavy equipment and general equipment. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Maintain shop equipment in a clean and orderly condition and report all deficiencies to supervisor 
  • Perform inspections to ensure tested and repaired equipment meet performance specifications 
  • Troubleshoot breakdowns of equipment to determine extent of damage or malfunctions 
  • Follow given operating instructions to maintain shop equipment operations 
  • Maintain supplies 
  • Call for repairs 
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance 
  • Complete and file all appropriate reports and paperwork 
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels 
  • All other duties as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience 
  • Basic computer knowledge/skill 
  • Current driver's license 
  • ASE Certified preferred 
  • Strong teamwork orientation; detail orientation; strong organizational skills 
  • Active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback 
  • Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements 
  • *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
