Job description

Ideal Candidate

Calibration Laboratory LLC is seeking talented, hard working individuals with a passion to learn a new career. At Cal Lab, we want to grow our technicians into more technically advanced Metrologists. Entry level candidates will begin as Associate Calibration Technicians and will be given opportunity and encouragement to advance up the technician ranks to Calibration Technician I and beyond.

The ideal candidate has the passion and drive to learn something new every day and apply this knowledge to calibrate instruments in our established lab or on-site at client's facilities. This is not a career where every day is the same. There are numerous opportunities to expand your knowledge and technical skill set with hands-on experience and online training materials.

Entry Level

We encourage candidates who are willing to learn and who are looking for a long-term career to apply. We have an in-depth, self-paced training program to establish a baseline skill set that will integrate a new technician into a productive career in Metrology. Advancement to at least Level 1 technician is required within the first year of employment.

Application Process

  • Submit a resume and a cover letter. The cover letter should tell us about you outside of the details on your resume. We want to get to know you as a person outside of just your previous employment. Applications without a cover letter, a resume submitted as a cover letter or AI generated responses to application questions will automatically be rejected, regardless of qualifications.
  • A review of your application (question responses, resume & cover letter) will be performed by our management team to determine if you are a good candidate for this position.
  • If we think you you are a good candidate, a link to our entrance exam will be emailed to you. This exam must be taken within 3 days of receiving the link to be considered for employment.
  • Provided the exam is passed, we will set up an interview with you so we can get to know you personally as well as you can get to know us. We want to make sure this is also a career and a company you would like to work with just as much as we would like to work with you.

  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Proficient math skills, including basic algebra

  • Maintain exemplary laboratory cleanliness through daily spot-cleaning and weekly deep cleaning of lab spaces and work stations
  • Willingness to safely operate company vehicles, including compact SUVs, minivans, and cargo vans
  • Being able to make improvements based on routine performance, educational and production metrics

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to communicate orally with customers, manufacturers, management, and coworkers is crucial. Regular use of phone and email for communication is essential. Hearing and vision correctable to within normal ranges is essential for holding normal conversations, receiving ordinary information, and preparing or inspecting documents and calibration activities.
  • Using a computer or calibrating while sitting or standing for extended periods (up to 50% of the time) is common. Must be able to move about the laboratory and customer facilities as required.
  • Some calibration procedures and customer facilities may expose to you heat, cold, high noise-levels, chemicals, high pressures, high voltages, and/or heavy machinery. The willingness to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment, which may include steel-toe boots, earplugs, splash aprons, safety glasses, respirators, face masks, etc., is required.
