Material Handler Medical Device Company

Position                         : Material Handler (Forklift)

Location                       : Sparks, MD

Duration                       : 12 Months 

Total Hours/week        : 40.00

Employment Type: Contract on W2 (Need US Citizens Or GC Holders Only)

Description:          

Work days/hours: Train for the first month on 1st shift (6:00am - 2:30pm) Monday - Friday.
After the training period, the individual will move to our off-shift (8:00pm - 4:30am) - overnight
***Will be working in the refrigerator for part of the shift***. Wear warm clothing. MUST be able to work in the refrigerator area. It is 38 degrees on the ambient side and 6 degrees in the refrigerator***
***NOT ACCESSIBLE TO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION. MUST HAVE THEIR OWN VEHICLE***
***Experience working on a Turrety truck and forklift are required***

Work days/hours: 4pm - 12:30am Mon - Fri

  Roles & Responsibilities
  • Uses a variety of equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies and finished products or goods within a plant, office or warehouse. May maintain records.
  • Develops skills in basic tasks, techniques and procedures within one skill area / process / method.
  • Applies basic knowledge and skills to complete routine tasks consisting of prescribed steps.
  • Works within clearly defined SOPs and / or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines.
  • Works under general to limited supervision.
  • The job can require lifting and/or moving over 50 lbs.
  • The position will have exposure to work near moving mechanical parts, extreme weather conditions and vibration.
  • Occasionally the position will have exposure to work in high, precarious places and fumes/airborne particles.
  • It is hot in the summer months (no AC) and cold in the winter months (limited heating).
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
Experience Required

  • Has basic skills training in an analytical / scientific method or operational process area (e.g., material handling and management, logistics, manufacturing production).
