  • Collaborate with design teams to understand mechanical system coordination and general MEP integration.
  • Learn and apply relevant building codes and standards under mentorship.
  • Research mechanical equipment specifications and summarize manufacturer data for use in system layouts and coordination with other disciplines.
  • Participate in submittal and RFI reviews with guidance from engineers.
  • Engage in construction administration observation and field survey support activities.
  • Take technical meeting notes on mechanical items to build communication familiarity and document coordination items.
  • Complete assigned tasks within established timelines while tracking hours for self-performed work.
  • Begin developing proficiency in QAQC workflows by reviewing personal work and learning HED’s mechanical drafting and modeling standards.
  • Participate in internal learning sessions, mentorship programs, and project team debriefs to accelerate development.
  • Engage in the DWP process by participating in time estimation exercises and understanding task planning as it relates to electrical scope.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent, required.
  • P.E. licensure required.
  • 2+ years in the AEC Industry required.
  • Written and verbal communication skills commensurate with the position required.
  • Strong organizational skills preferred.
  • Revit proficiency required.

  • Ability to work well with others under deadline situations required.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in writing and verbally via phone, video conferencing, and in-person.
